Some confusion.
Attitude mode is the most common "auto level" mode.
Props MUST be balanced or it can cause it to go crazy.
Without running a GPS, it will always drift, at least to blow down wind and a little random on top of that. That is the best you can hope for. Like a car, you must constantly correct it to keep it on the road.
You must have it flying well before adding a GPS.
Your new quad is like a car that is built, but front end is not yet factory aligned. You must adjust Attitude -> RotateVirtual to align it to minimize the drift. Search forum for "rotate virtual".
