There is one advantage to the win64 version : debug builds.
win32 debug builds don't work for me under gdb. win64 debug builds work fine.

Besides that there is no real advantage to use a win64 build.

Short version is I use macs but had to ice a pc to sort out a neo m8n with revo mini. All went well until I unplugged the USB and removed the battery. Opened up LP, plugged the revo in, ....chaos no green led. After an hour Messi g about I went to downloads and tried to rescue the board. Somewhere along the Line...I noticed the firmware "Next"...and still no green led.
Any advice on a rescue would be appreciated.

Green led is related to power, you can try all GCS versions you want it do not solve a hardware issue.

Schema is quite simple:

+5v (esc) > diode >
                               | regulator > Green Led
USB port > diode  >

Start with a new USB cable / USB port, check if still powered when connected to a +5V esc output
