These files are provided to help people who have issues setting up the build environment but want to use some of the features only provided in the Next branch. I assume no responsibly for your use of these files. I hope this helps someone.
Please remember these are development builds not releases so assume that issues may arise.

No, there's no rule against it. It's open source software. A couple of people have posted links to builds in the forum over the last few months.
LibrePilot tends to be as open and rule free as possible.
-
I understand its open source and free and all. Just thought maybe you preferred people to build themselves. I will post a link to the latest windows X64 and I686 builds shortly. Hopefully this will help people that are having problems building.
-
We do prefer people to build themselves, it increases their knowledge. :)
On the other hand, some people will never go to the bother of setting up and compiling. And some people have problems with their system and just can't get it to compile.
Normally only the developers and flight test team run next because it hasn't been extensively tested. This is an unusual situation where features (mainly external mag and DJI gps support) were added that people want enough to run what's essentially beta software. All the developers run next so there are no known problems to stop others from running it.
You're welcome to post links to your builds.
edit: I've merged the two threads into one.

Any newer update as this won't work for me please.
-
What do you mean ?
-
Build now updated check first post.
-
Nice, I shall try it out..loaded to WIN 7 64 bit no probs.
-
Using the Win32, can you check the "About LibrePilot" in help menu ?
-
Not sure which about you wanted checked. The About plugins works fine, the About Librepilot is blank.
-
Blank white for about window ? I'm not alone :)
windows 7 or something ?

What's the trick to building 32 vs. 64? I (inadvertently) built x64 and r901 works fine but later next builds have crashed on start. Haven't had time to look into that but would like to see if x86 works better.
Is there any benefit to a 64-bit GCS? AFAIK it's memory usage look pretty minimal.
-
No trick just setup both 32 bit and 64 bit build environments per the instructions. As of late I had to do a pacman -Syuu until no more updates to install then it builds fine.
As for the 32 bit vs 64 bit probably not much of an advantage running the GCS one over the other so I started just building the 32bit version because it also works on my
Windows 8 32bit tablet I take to the field.
-
f5soh I am using Windows 10 for builds and my main GCS install.
-
There is one advantage to the win64 version : debug builds.
win32 debug builds don't work for me under gdb. win64 debug builds work fine.
Besides that there is no real advantage to use a win64 build.

Short version is I use macs but had to ice a pc to sort out a neo m8n with revo mini. All went well until I unplugged the USB and removed the battery. Opened up LP, plugged the revo in, ....chaos no green led. After an hour Messi g about I went to downloads and tried to rescue the board. Somewhere along the Line...I noticed the firmware "Next"...and still no green led.
Any advice on a rescue would be appreciated.
-
Green led is related to power, you can try all GCS versions you want it do not solve a hardware issue.
Schema is quite simple:
+5v (esc) > diode >
| regulator > Green Led
USB port > diode >
Start with a new USB cable / USB port, check if still powered when connected to a +5V esc output

I can't get to it :'( ... Is there anything special I have to do to get to the link???
-
Link not work
-
You have to be a member of the Flight Test Team to access that.
There's very little difference between RC1 and the current next other than the name.

If I'm not wrong, the only difference is the Yaw acro+ config in GUI.

I can share the link for RC1 compiled by myself, if it okay?
