No, there's no rule against it.  It's open source software. A couple of people have posted links to builds in the forum over the last few months.

LibrePilot tends to be as open and rule free as possible.

I understand its open source and free and all. Just thought maybe you preferred people to build themselves. I will post a link to the latest windows X64 and I686 builds shortly. Hopefully this will help people that are having problems building.

We do prefer people to build themselves, it increases their knowledge. :)

On the other hand, some people will never go to the bother of setting up and compiling.  And some people have problems with their system and just can't get it to compile.

Normally only the developers and flight test team run next because it hasn't been extensively tested.  This is an unusual situation where features (mainly external mag and DJI gps support) were added that people want enough to run what's essentially beta software.  All the developers run next so there are no known problems to stop others from running it.

You're welcome to post links to your builds.

edit: I've merged the two threads into one.

Using the Win32, can you check the "About LibrePilot" in help menu ?

Not sure which about you wanted checked. The About plugins works fine, the About Librepilot is blank.

What's the trick to building 32 vs. 64?  I (inadvertently) built x64 and r901 works fine but later next builds have crashed on start.  Haven't had time to look into that but would like to see if x86 works better.

Is there any benefit to a 64-bit GCS?  AFAIK it's memory usage look pretty minimal.

No trick just setup both 32 bit and 64 bit build environments per the instructions.  As of late I had to do a pacman -Syuu until no more updates to install then it builds fine.
As for the 32 bit vs 64 bit probably not much of an advantage running the GCS one over the other so I started just building the 32bit version because it also works on my
Windows 8 32bit tablet I take to the field.
