I can't get my CC3D board to reliably arm.
« on: December 18, 2015, 08:33:03 pm »

I am setting up a drone that I have flown many hours using OpenPilot.  I have transitioned over to LibraPilot since the openpilot community is dead.

I have gone through all the setup wizards, calibrated my esc, and tranmsmitter.  I can't get it to arm.  Sometimes when I set it to always armed I can get it to respond correctly with my transmitter.  But then when I disconnect and reboot and turn on the quad not connected to the computer it will not arm.

Any ideas?

Post your config file here. File > export UAV settings

Check the systemHealth panel, any alarm ?

Now I think I am getting it to arm but just no response to throttle input....   Very strange.  The sticks move on the setup screen cooresponding to the physical stick movement.

Now when I turn on the quad the ESC's go through their arming sound.  I input my arming command which is roll left and the blue light on the board flashes fast like its armed.  If I initiate the disarm command (roll right) the quick flashing stops.

On the RC input section of Librepilot the throttle moves with corresponding stick movement.  But I get no actual motors moving.  I did get the motors moving when going through motor/esc calibration in the vehicle setup wizard.

I ran back through vehicle setup and now for some reason its working.  I don't know what funky state I got it in but seems to be better now....

Previously min/max was set to the same value (1000) in Output tab...

I see nothing wrong about arming in your config.
While arming the fast led flash is gyro initialization, you should not move frame at this step.

Argh,

I just went out and flew and came back in to adjust the throttle curve.  Went back out and it won't arm again.

If I go in and say always armed it seems to work, but I don't want that obviously...  I could use the throttle cut on my transmitter but I would prefer the proper way.

Could it be something screwy with my throttle on the transmitter?  Possibly it not sending throttle all the way off signal?  It would not arm if you had the throttle positioned with any input right?

If something wrong with wiring / signal you should see a orange INPUT alarm.
Check Throttle value, it should be bellow neutral value for arming.
How/What did you change in Throttle curve ?

When I go the system health there are multiple orange things flashing.

AccelState
AccessoryDesired
ActuatorCommand
Actuator Desired
    Roll
    Pitch
    Yaw

Attitude State
GryoState

ManualControlCommand

Channel  (1,2,3, and 4)

Under ManualContorlCommand the default value for throttle is less than -.96xxxx.   I can change that value by messing with subtrim on the radio.

Ah, yes... Config is red, and input is orange.  I am trying to click on config and it shows me a yellow floating window for a little and then moves out of complete view of the screen so I can't read the entire thing...

Here we go.  Had to get a photo with my phone as the hover menu would disappear when trying to get  a screen shot.

I changed the rate flight mode to have manual thrust and the red has gone away.

Now I know to look at system health...  Thanks for the help.  Easy when you read :)
