-Will a 90C lipo replace my 70C (BFight 210)
« on: May 06, 2018, 11:17:29 am »
Hi thanks for reading!

Right now i use the recomended mah and c rated battery for my Bfight 210: 1500mah 70c 4s. It has a 4 in 1 4x30A  (4x35 burst current)esc, and F2205 - 2300kv motors.

I dont understand matching batteries motors and ESCs very well, but my current battery should do 1.5ah (1500mah) x 70c = 105Amps.

So.. 105 amps / 4 motors = 26.25

So does this mean that im missing out on 9 potental amps that the escs could hanndle?
So i was looking at a crazypony 90C 1500mah battery that is slightly lighter.

1.5 x 90c = 135amps

135amps / 4 motors = 33.75amps

Will this supply too much power? My thoughts were that by raising the c rating the voltage or running amps wont change just the amps at full throttle. And it seems to stay under 35 amps anyway, but will this work with my motors?

Like i said, I have minimal understading and dont want break my drone, and love to gain knowlage about this stuff. Thanks so much for reading and helping me out :))

The current is related to load, this means motor Kv and prop size.
You can use a 90C battery as a 70C replacement, this battery will be more robust at high currents drawn by motors.

A battery cannot break something in your quad since the voltage/number of cells is the same.
The 1.5 x 90c = 135amps calc give the maximum admissible current the battery can handle, sometimes given with a time parameter (burst).
