Especially if your quad has tall landing gear.  Tick the box at the bottom of the Stabilization page of Configuration titled "Zero the integral when throttle is low".  This is in GCS 16.09. I don't know if it's discussed in the documentation or not.  It fixed my frequent tip overs.

The default for "Zero the Integral" is "enabled".  :)  Generally, if you aren't sure what an option does, research it before changing it, or at least put it back to default if it doesn't clearly help your issue.   :o

Even with "Zero the Integral" set to default, you should take off very soon after starting the motors (a quick jump to knee high is better than slowly increasing throttle), and don't apply any control other than throttle, until it is off the ground.  Trying to "help it" before or during takeoff because it is sitting on a slope can lead to flips too.  People who fly in Rate mode fudge this a little, but they know what they are doing.

Probably the only people who need "Zero the Integral" changed from default are the ones that want stabilization always on, even when the throttle stick is all the way down.  That would be some people with fixed wing or surface vehicles; also people who do stunts with their quads as they fall from high up.

Thanks for the reply.  I don't know how my Zero the Integral got unchecked.  My previous firmware was a "next" build.  This highlights the importance of doing a full chip erase, which I did not do. :)
