That is normal and doesn't happen when flying.

"I" term windup.  It is not perfectly level, so it tries harder and harder to make it level by increasing some motors.  When actually taking off, do not let it wind up before liftoff.  Take off immediately with a quick jump to knee high with sticks neutral.  You can practice this starting with not enough power and try more and more power till it comes up but not too much.

Having a problem with quad flipping backwards or to the left on takeoff. I went back to vehicle setup. During the finding neutral on the motors I noticed the aft-left motor can bearly be heard. Sounds nothing like the others. When I completed the setup, that motor does not start when the others do. Would this be a problem with the motor or the ECS or both?

This to start with

Then use the default (enabled) for Stabilization->"ZeroTheIntegral".  Why do so many newbies wind up with this set to the non-default value of "disabled"?

Take off quickly after starting motors.  Jump up to knee high.

Don't "help it" while taking off.  Leave the sticks in the middle!

Don't take off from the side of a hill.
