Why wont my Radio Control sticks work ?
« on: April 03, 2017, 10:38:32 am »
Hello

I have a cc3d, I am able to command the servos using the program. ( set center , max , min )

I am able to see the radio control sticks move in the program. ( setup wizard )

What is stopping me from moving the sticks to move the surfaces ? ( is in the "final configuration")

Is this an ARMing issue ?

Also there seems to be no stabilisation happening.

This is not the flight mode switch ?

Andy

Hi Andy, if you have missconfigured something, if not all health boxes are green there are safety checks which prevent arming. You should never use "always armed" as it bypasses safety checks. When you fix your configuration and have all boxes green you should be able to arm according to arm sequence you have set. It resets automatically to "always disarm" whenever you change something.

I assume you talk about a fixed wing ?

There is no need arming for servo movement.
Servos should move and stabilize the wing (if Attitude / Rate stabilization engaged) while disarmed.

Be sure the PFD is working correctly and no STAB alarm in SystemHealth panel.
After you power up, the board wait for a steady state and initialize Gyros. You shouldn't move the frame at start.

+ Fixed wing
+ I can see the stick move in all the test screens
+ I can make the servos move by moving sliders in the program
+ I am hearing two stories - armed will stop servos / armed wont stop servos
+ I want to hear from a fixed wing pilot with a working stabalised plane please
+ I am making a UAV - I want it to fly straight and level - none of this AS3X junk
+ I will add GPS later
+ One youtube video said "disarmed" was coded out - so why put it in there
+ One youtube video said set stabailisation to "manual" and the plane will fly as if the cc3d was not even there

So many requests added to the initial issue...

You mean Disarmed ?
Yes, disarmed wont stop servos. Only motor do not start while disarmed.

Yes, i'm a fixed wing user since some time now.

CC3D only support GPS for OSD purposes. No automous or GPS assisted flight using a CC3D.

There is a "Disarmed" parameter simply for safety reasons.
While following the Transmitter wizard or Vehicle wizard you do not want a motor starting...

Yes, exactly. Manual mean direct or not stabilized function like a normal plane.

Back to initial issue, how about SystemHealth and Gyro init / steady board ?

I got it working !!!

I have stabilisation and stick control

Yes Gps for telemetry only

Armed was set to roll left roll was reversed

Also libre pilot program crashed a few times

Anyway adding flaps now

Next will play with amount of stabilisation

Very powerful board and program

Look forward to long flights

Rate is resistance hey

Atitutude is not up right level

I think I would like a better pwm to rx cable

Single little pins not very good

Added a ubec to power rx and cc3d

8200 mah battery life

Have oplink board for the ground as well to setup

Oh and gps still needs ublox not nmea

I think it is best to use "always armed" for fixed wing.  You don't want to disarm accidentally because during landing (throttle off) you decide to make a turn that requires full roll bank angle.
