My CC3D does not work with 16.09!
« on: February 20, 2017, 04:37:04 pm »
Hello,
My CC3D which works perfectly with OpenPilot 15.02.02 software.
Now,I have tried to update firmware to 16.09 but the gyro is not responding,I mean STAB section is red and stabilization is not working.
I would like to know why? :-*

The biggest reason 1609 stab would stay red is a new feature that waits for it to stop moving before doing gyro init.  If the gyro is not well calibrated, or has more noise than most, then it will never init.  Try disabling:
"GCS -> Configuration -> Attitude -> Settings -> Wait until the board is steady"

If you do this the vehicle must be set down immediately (within a few seconds) after plugging in the battery.  It is best to set it down and then plug it in.

Are you aware that you can't just update the firmware?  I guess you know you must update the GCS as well, but the one I want to tell you about is that you must erase settings and start over and configure it from the beginning.  Did you do that?

So what is "latest" version you are using ? It should display in GCS.
LibrePilot website is here http://www.librepilot.org and you can get from there to Wiki and Downloads.
Whatever "opwiki" is, it is not hosted or maintained by LibrePilot team to my knowledge.

My problem solved!

Because I have finally bought new one,$7.50(US)without case at Ebay.
The old one was not only no update possible with 16.09  but had problem with fixed wing aircraft,
The problem is that with no throttle ,stabilization seems to work OK but servo go crazy(shaking and move to wrong directions) by adding throttle.

The old one which I have never used and lying in my room for couple of month was no good.
I have learned from you tube that some people connect throttle directly to receiver and give power to CC3D separately, but it did not work out for mine.
I think I had a bad lack with old one.
I do not know if the old one worked for quad copter set up. It might worked if the set up was for quad copter(with open pilot 15.02.02).

I just have tested new CC3D and it performed excellent, My plane is dual aileron and CC3D is much low cost compare to other gyros for fixed wing.
In cold weather stabilization helped me a lot ,hope it can deal with some wind!
Thank you for help. And I am sorry about my Japanese English. :-\

Be aware that temperature difference between ESC calibration day and today can make an ESC min value (output page) wrong.  You can experiment by adjusting the min for the bad channel +50 or -50 and see if that fixes it.

Other than that, I have had this happen and it is easy to fix.  From memory, so you may have to adjust.  Plug the board in and go to the output page and make sure the bad channel has values close to the other channels.  Exact for min and max, within 10 or so for neutral.  Copy down the neutral value for the bad channel so you don't have to re-run motor neutral setup.

Go to Vehicle page and select a different output for the bad arm.  Save.

Go to Output page and set up that output with the min and max of the others and the neutral you copied down.

If you never successfully completed ESC calibration or motor neutral setting, do that now.
