librepilot on XMPF3E
« on: December 11, 2016, 06:14:37 pm »
Hello, flymates!

I read the news about FrSky first flight controller: XMPF3E
http://www.frsky-rc.com/product/pro.php?pro_id=173

There is great idea to use XMPF3E on my quad and eliminate receiver at all. But not sure if I can use LP ob this.

Could you give any clues?

Thanks!
Have a nice flying!!!!!

It appears to be a F3 board.  LP doesn't currently support F3 boards, the project jumped directly from the original F1 boards to the higher performance F4 boards.  I've always wondered why people are coming out with new F3 boards instead of using the better F4 chips.

We've discussed adding support for F3 boards and one of the devs has an experimental branch that supports a couple of F3 boards, not this one of course since it's new.  Support for some F3 boards will probably end up being added to the normal code sometime next year.  It's hard to say exactly which boards will be added or when.

Great!

But I think XMPF3E is not a big deal. Any case Revo board is good enough to add a lightweight RX to. Please don't spent Your time for old boards.
It is much better idea to add FrSky SPort support for telemetry. It will be a really thing to have :-)

ALL THE BEST!
