How to connect SBUS Receiver, GPS, I2C Mag, and OSD to Revo
« on: September 29, 2016, 02:13:50 pm »
Hi

I have a Revo board and some devices:
- FrSky receiver (Sbus)
- GPS (serial TX/RX)
- minimOSD (serial TX/RX/DTR)
- aux mag sensor (optional, i2c? or serial TX/RX I don't know yet)

I can connect FrSky receiver to Main port only because it uses Sbus.
I can connect minimOSD to Receiver port because DTR line is there.
Where can I connect the GPS and Mag sensore?
GPS to Flexi or Receiver port? Can I connect (serial) GPS and minimOSD together same time to Receiver port? And how?
I think aux Mag can goes to Flexi port only....

If you want Gps + Mag + Sbus + Telemetry you should use a Naza GPS and 16.09

Sbus go to Mainport
GPS to FlexiPort and receive Mag data using the same connection.
OSD connected to the FlexiIO port (receiverPort) DTR is only need for flashing OSD.

What should I set for FlexiPort?
I've just checked 16.09 RC2. How should I setup GPS and Mag together on FlexiPort?
... as GPS or I2C and set up AUXMAG in System Settings?

GPS+Mag in only one port can be only done using Naza GPS or GPSv9 (from OP days)

Using 16.09 you can set like that for I2C mag:

- SBus on MainPort
- GPS: FlexiIO port
- I2C Mag on FlexiPort

No port left for OSD, of course.

Yes, I knew these.

I need OSD.
If I plug Naze GPS in FlexiPort... What should I set in GCS for FlexiPort? How will it know that there is a mag sensor on FlexiPort too?

The Naza GPS have a cpu that read GPS data from Ublox receiver module and his own I2C mag sensor. Finally both data is send using proprietary protocol.

So using only one serial port you receive position data AND Mag values.
You should select "DJI" as GPS protocol.

You can also use the Vehicle Wizard, view/save the connection diagram and finally add a telemetry option to the FlexiIO port for the OSD.
