How to get power to the CC3D board
« on: September 21, 2016, 08:26:16 pm »
Hey! My ESCs only have 2 wires coming off of them so my CC3D board doesn't get power, how do I get power to the board? If it helps, my CC3D board came with two extra cables which look like they plug into the side of the board. They each have 4 plugs coming off of them and look like they can plug into a receiver pin or a pin of the CC3D board. Thanks for the help!

You simply need to provide +5V to the board, from a Ubec/step down in your case.
This +5V will power the board and devices like receiver connected on it.

Pololu 5v step down from Amazon. Other ways are available. But pololu regulators are cheap and super effective.

Those extra wires are probably for DSM satellite receivers.  Don't use them because they have 3.3v power and putting 5v power into that will probably fry something.

The question is "where do you already have 5v power?"

If your ESCs have BECs but the red wire has been cut, then the easiest thing is to reattach a red wire in one or more ESCs.
