Revo +output for miniopOSD
« on: March 23, 2016, 11:45:08 pm »
Hi
Just set up my new Revo board for my tricopter: vehicle setup wizard... set up for PPM input etc.
No problem, everything works great.
The problem comes when I follow the instructions setting up  Revo+miniOSD on:

https://librepilot.atlassian.net/wiki/plugins/servlet/mobile?contentId=7274504#content/view/7274504

I set the flexiIO port /receiver port as "ComBridge"and according to the other instructions , then save and reboot. Check
Problem: the board doesn't receive any PPM- signals any longer?
Is there som additional settings one must do for it to work or doesn't it work with Ppm and the  output to OSD through receiver port?

Hi, welcome.

The combridge setup is only used for MinimOSD programming.
In normal operation you can choose "PPM+Telemetry" and minimOSD can receive telemetry from FlexiIO port.

Take a look here, "PPM+Telemetry" column:

i did the same mistake, because in the How to Article in the documentation the connection of the minimosd is only described with combridge at receiver port. So in wondered also.

Nothing about Flex oder Mainport and setting as Telemetry and 57600 Baud.

And nothing about the protocol, which the revo board use to send his telemetry data to an OSD. Mavlink or UAVTalk or another protocol?

I got help in the forum, now i will correct my manual.
I translated the librepilot into german, now i can understand more details.

greetings
Jürgen, Germany

Sorry about that, but wiki page mention the MainPort/FlexiPort use as "All boards"
https://librepilot.atlassian.net/wiki/display/LPDOC/MinOPOSD+setup#MinOPOSDsetup-Allboards

Just set telemetry @57600, that UAVTalk protocol

Mentioned in introduction:
https://librepilot.atlassian.net/wiki/display/LPDOC/MinOPOSD+setup#MinOPOSDsetup-Introduction

Remember also the Wiki or the whole project is not every time a "ready to use" project, you are encouraged to improve/amend/correct every stuff you find wrong.
You can access to wiki and edit pages.

Got it working fine. However I decided to use the flexiport  instead because the voltage out pin on the reciever port is busy in my setup(powering Rx).

Questions:

1. The flexiIO as output for miniOSD:
If set as "comBridge" for "programming only", as you  said earlier  the revo board acts "like a FTDI serial device"  used in normal connection procedure?

2. Is there a way to reset the timer in the OSD to be set to start when arming the aircraft? ( maybe this should had a thread of its own)
