Yay!!!!   Registration has always seemed to be against the law (Congress wrote a "hands off model aircraft" law), but that didn't stop the FAA from claiming they could do whatever they wanted.  A court case finally made it to court and the registration requirement has been struck down.

Of course the current Congress is quite capable of turning this around.  If it does turn it around, and you don't like that, remember who voted for it come elections !   I imagine the vote will be along party lines.

The main legislative power made a law that said that the aviation authority may not do anything to affect model aviation, but the aviation authority did exactly that.  The courts finally told the aviation authority that it's rules were illegal.

The problem is that with the current political climate, it is likely that the main legislative power will simply undo it's previous law and let the aviation authority do whatever it wants.

To USA voters:  Remember which politicians make these changes and vote them out if you don't like it.

I am registered, and also was waiting on this ruling. You can be sure that if they turn the legislation around I will find who and why they vote, and I will vote against them on the next election.
