Throttle too sensitive
« on: January 19, 2016, 08:55:05 pm »
Hi,

So I'm finally in the air, but the throttle stick is way too sensitive, there is 1 click on the stick between hover and heading into the sky at a fair speed. I have emax 2313 motors with 10x4.5 CF props on a F450 frame and a Revo.

Can I just fiddle with the throttle curve on the Vehicle tab or is there more to it than that?

Yes, throttle is the right way.

Something like that:

3S LiPo?  Those props are good for that motor if 3S LiPo.

Yeah, just flatten that throttle curve out like the picture above. Play with it a bit to get it where you want it

Yes 3 cell, 3300 lipo with my skill level I don't need super snappy flight so went for longer flight time.

Thanks for the info I'll play with the curve when I get home, that at least I'm familiar with from my heli days, all the other flight settings and PID are not clear to me yet, I'll tackle those later, for now I'm happy to have it in do everything for me mode :)

Real quick P is how responsive it is. How robotic it moves. How quick and decisive your stick moves the quad. To little and it's slow feeling in response. To much and it'll occolate or just a touch to much and it'll bounce(twitch)after you move it.
I is, will it stay at the angle you put it to and hold that angle and
D kind of counter acts P to soften and smooth the whole thing. Roughly that's what they do. Tons of videos online and I'm sure the guys here at the forum can help

Thanks guys, played with the curve and got is much better, it also helped that I found out I had my 3 position flight mode switch reversed so I was in full rate mode when I thought I was in Altitude mode....

Out of interest should I be able to arm in any of the modes? I only seem to be able to arm in stabilization 1 that is set to rate, rate, rate, If I swap the modes around I can't arm... No big deal I can arm in rate then spin up the motors and flip to altitude.
