HWSettings issues
« on: December 21, 2015, 11:57:23 am »
Hi Everyone,
I am new on this forum even if I was already registered on the OP forum.  :D
I got an issue trying to setup my GPS with CC3D. I have configured my GPS ang plug it into my CC3D and tried to set the parameters of the board.
I just can't enable the GPS in GCS : when i set 'ENABLE' in HWSettings for the GPS, CC3D failed and i have to reboot it. When the board is back online, 'DISABLE' is set for the GPS in HWSettings.
It's is pretty much the same with all the devices in HWSettings.

Here are the instructions i read for the setup :

https://code.google.com/p/minoposd/wiki/OpenPilot
https://librepilot.atlassian.net/wiki/display/LPDOC/Configure+a+GPS+for+CC3D

Does someone have an idea to fix that ?

Thanks a lot !

Hi,

If you follow our wiki page it should work.
Be sure your GPS is configured fine at 19200bds.

Maybe you have some memory issues, using GPS you can't run others modules like Gimbal or TxPid.

Are you trying to configure from scratch or using a previous config ?

It's a configuration from scratch, the only other device is the minimosd.
I have set the baudrate to 9600 both on for the GPS and CC3D

And Gps is configured exactly like wiki page explains ?
Remember only a few UBX messages are supported, not NMEA

I have disabled all NMEA data and enabled the listed UBX data

Try to follow this steps:

- Upgrade&Erase settings
- Hardware tab: Set One port with GPS and Save
- Reboot, disconnect board, connect board.

- Got into HwSettings > Modules and enable GPS module, save using the icon with Red arrow.

- Reboot, disconnect board, connect board.
- Connect GPS and apply +5V

Just tested using Oplink connected to CC3D with 57600 telemetry.
Running outdoors.

Config file attached, 512bytes of RAM left

Can I ask f5soh which GPS this is for? I have a NEO-M8N that I bought recently to put on the CC3D, and I need a config file. I have plugged it into U-Center thru an FTDI adaptor and confirmed that it works. Do you have a config file that will work for this receiver?

I use a basic Neo6 for testing.

Try to import the file attached and next change to 19200 bauds in Config > PRT settings and save.

Or better, follow wiki and do it from scratch.

Ok, I'll try that as soon as I get the JST-SH connectors that I ordered from ebay.

Thanks

I hope you have better luck getting the connectors than I did.  I ordered them and cables from newtown_shop on eBay on Dec 3rd, they left HK on Dec 10th, and still haven't shown up here.

I got mine from the same seller. I'll bet they are on the same boat. Must be a row boat. For that price you would think they could keep some U.S. stock

Got my JST-SH connectors in the mail, and made a breakout for my NEO-M8N GPS receiver. After going thru the config located on Wiki page for the receiver through U-Center, I was finally able to get my GPS to work with my CC3D. So happy!!

Let me know if I can help anyone with this
