OP Link Fault
« on: February 27, 2018, 10:06:30 pm »
Hello Everyone!

I wondered if any could help, I have a new OPLink and I don't seem to be able to get it to connect to my computer or boot. I have tried replacing the firmware with the rescue feature, but I only get a green light with slow flashing blue and orange together on the OP link.

Libre Pilot GCS does not recognise it.

Have no problems connecting to my CC3D or Revolution boards with the same PC.

Any ideas?

Hi,
Can you try what happens with the following:
- Disconnect board
- Click the "Upgrade&Erase" button
- Connect Oplink and wait the flashing and erasing process.

You should get one led solid (Power) and another one blinking with a one second period (Link)

You can try also updating the bootloader attached to this post using the Rescue method and redo the firmware update like described above.

Is the rescue process or "Upgrade&Erase" give something normal ?
What do you mean by "no connection" ?
Not able to connect both side using link or no Oplink panel displayed in config tab?

I have the same issue. If I go to the config panel it just show that it will be updated when the hardware gets connected.

OpLink has a very small CPU and has reduced functionality when connected to GCS.

The only Configuration page that shows anything is Configuration->OpLink, which works as expected.

The Firmware page only works if you press Rescue button (maybe Upgrade* buttons too, I'm not sure) before plugging in (USB) the OpLink.

In 16.09, beware that if you File->ExportUavSettings when using OpLink to access the settings in the model (via RF telemetry), that it does save the model settings, except that it saves the GCS OpLink settings, not the model OpLink settings.  For my thinking, this seems to be a bug.  Also when you ImportUavSettings, it will write the settings to the model, except the OpLink settings get written to the GCS OpLink.  For these reasons, I recommend that you always use USB direct connection to the model when doing Import Export settings.

That is a great TIP.

I was able to get the Configuration screen going, but I have to Compile the Next under Linux. Windows 16.09 R. 711 the Config will not show up. I try Rescue, Upgrade and Erase & Upgrade, nothing. I am compiling Next under Windows to see is I get the same results as in Linux.

16.09 RELEASE and 16.09+R711 are two different versions that are not compatible.  You need to convert everything to one or the other.  OpLinks, FCs, GCS all must run a matching version or you get those problems.

You might need to install a newer OpLink bootloader.  I remember I had to do that for one.  When you do Rescue and then plug in the OpLink (and wait maybe 10 seconds) what BootLoader version does it say is on the OpLink?

TheOtherCliff,

I did converted every thing to Next, and for some reason the windows 10 that I compiled does not let me configure the oplink. See video. by the way I can do it in Linux

Try reinstalling the USB Composite Device used by the faulty OPlink.
