Couldn't arm CC3D Atom and BlHeli ESC
« on: September 17, 2016, 02:01:02 pm »
Hey guys,

I try to programm my CC3D Atom Board since hours, but it is impossible to arm my board when it is not connected to a PC. When I connect it to the PC everything is fine and works proberly. First I programmed arming to a switch and it worked great with the Libre Pilot Software and the motors spool up. But when it is not connected to the PC, it woun't work. So I tried to set the board to "alwayes armed". And same thing again - works fine when the board is connected to the PC, but it does nothing when it is disconnected.

Does anyone has an idea what that could be?

My setup:
DYS 30A ESC with latest BL-Heli software
DYS Motors
7,4V UBEC
CC3D Atom Board

Hi,

Maybe a powering issue, is the board blinking / booting while powered only using the battery ?

What do you mean with 7.4V ubec ? You only need +5V for board.

No the LED is solid green. And it is 7,4V beacause it is a step-down-converter because I use 6S for this quad.

And the other Led ?
What's his behavior while connecting the battery ?

If you apply 7.4V to the board, the same voltage is applied to all devices connected to the board: Receiver, osd... not so good.

Nothing. The green LED starts to burn and that was it. Yes I know that everything else will get 7,4V also, but they should handle it without problems.

Just looked up what my setup could handle:

CC3D Atom: Up to 15V
X4RSB: Up to 10V

So 7,4V should fit fine. Everything else has got another stepdown converter (fpv equipment)

The green led show the power input, if the other led do not blink you can expect the board do not boot.

The 15V limitation only applies to original CC3D/Atom (mean sell in OP website / RMRC) that use the recommended regulator.
Almost all Chinese boards do not use regulators that can handle more than 10V , maybe some of them uses cheaper regulators.

Tried it with 5V - exactly the same case. Green LED is solid, blue one isn't

Measure the voltage on Green led or SBL pad, you should have 3.3v.

If no blue led activity, the board do not boot / run.

Okay, now I messured volts and I got 3,3V on SBL Pad and 2V on green LED. I also tried to load a new bootloader + firmware, but didn't work.

If the board boot/blink while connected to USB port and do not blink/boot using external power you can assume a hardware issue.
