hello,
I just registered to librePilot forum to collaborate and get help with some ideas for dose willing to learn and share knowledge. I'm a volunteer writer/editor with wikiHow.com and just recently starting a interest in the electrical engineering, r/c and autonomous control robotics Hobby. There are many ideas and plans and designs for several how-to articles currently as stubs, drafts and some will need improving.
Your idea for the Droket is very similar to one method and step instructions for airlifting Easter eggs to children that are unable to go on the hunt on the field. This would allow them to join the fun remaining stationary, or to shut them down from balloons.
One of many other suggestions that my children got to play with this spring. It was a very simple mini quadcopter that we powered and calibrate and bind level on the ground before being harnessed to their gondolas tethered to booster-rockets or launched from a cannon or catapult. Then using the remote transmitter throttle to activate the toys gyro to recover and correct direction from any angle or spin even rolling and inverted. very simple.
One way i have drawings and notes was to deploy a sail parachute and balloon that you could then control direction yaw, and rate of descent
-- - - There is one method I think would be interesting for you is one I need help getting to work. Using a CC3d or a kk 5.5v Board in a prototype (rocket launched airship/Multi rotor drone) to control rocket stability during launch, then switch modes to change flight control configuration each flight stage. I have notebooks, pictures, sketches, descriptions and a list of materials for someone to guide me trough.
