Quad overcorrecting...kind of?
« on: April 17, 2016, 05:20:57 am »
Hey guys been a minute since ive been on here have to apologize for that. Here is what ive got going on with my x650f with the revolution.

First i am still working to get it perfectly dialed in as far as tuning is concerned. Here is what I got going on. It seems like no matter what i do or change if I do an extreme movement on the roll axis the quad seems to over correct but then doesnt end up level afterword and drifts in the opposite dirrection of the stick movement. Whats going on here? What am i missing?

That's sounds pretty much like a tuning issue. I think what you observe is likely to be too high I and D values, but I could be wrong here, I am still learning.

I had best results using TxPID and Easytune, have you tried that?

Yes that is what i am using. I am thinking it is a tuning issue as well. But heres the thing. I set it up using a large roll kp value like .0000200 to .0000850. I think that is the right amount of zeros if not you get what im saying. I turn it all the way and i can see obvious oscillations when i make a movement on the roll axis i turn it all the way down and i still have the issue that i described above. The issue is present on the pitch axis as well just not as severe. Yaw axis is great. Then only other settings i have changed is the gyro noise filtering value i took it from 05 to 10. Changing that value solved alot of my issues in the beginning.

what fusion algorythm are you using? Basic(Complemantary) or INS13? In case you are unsure, it's in Config->Attitude->Setup, Basic or GPS. For tuning you should always start in Basic (Complementary) Mode.
