Need help setting up a OSD on a CC3D OpenPlilot
« on: March 13, 2016, 12:06:30 pm »
I have been working for 5 days trying to set up a OSD on my CC3D board anyone know of a good site that goes through it step by step I read the Libre Wiki loaded the firmware onto the OSD wired it per the schematic ? I get no video on the screen I remove the OSD from the system I get video , I don't know what I'm doing wrong ... I'm getting information overload ... most info is 3 to 4 years old ? ..   don't now where to go from here other than to abandon the project  I got about 50 hours into now .  I needs some help from some one that got the system to work ... I got a lot Questions ? 1. question what firmware to use with the OSD ? 2. question what two pads to solder to us only one 5 volt input  no one is clear on this info ? #3 do I even have the right OSD circuit board ?...  Its all baggood crap .

1. question what firmware to use with the OSD ?
The one from Wiki page, first in download table (blue):

Looks like your version doesn't have those pads.
Put power (12v) on video connector or MAX video chip is not powered = no video incrustation.

The other OSD (the CPU / arduino stuff) side is powered via CC3D port assuming you provide +5V to CC3D using a Bec or stepdown.

Try without videoIn, some cameras locks the video chip.

I see you are not using the ConfigTool version that come from Wiki page...
Did you update the charset ? This need both sides powered.

Hello
config tool was down loaded from Wiki ? I think ? my cam is a Mobius Action cam ... 1. I will try it with cam off no video in ...  2. when I up dated the charset I did not power both sides I will try that ... what cam and transmitter are you using ? . I may need a different camera .

Thanks :)

what cam and transmitter are you using ?

I have used many cameras and transmitters, from 1280Mhz, 2.4Ghz or 5.8Ghz :)
You really want a list ?

Currently cameras are 540 or 650tvl, a couple of boscam 200mW and LT200 used

For testing you don't need VideoIN

You can also connect the OSD video output to video input on monitor directly.

Boscam 200mW mounted in one quad and one flying wing.
LT200 for all others FPV quads because more small.

Not only one aircraft here :)

I finally got it to work by building a ((jumper cable)) and going from the OSD into the monitor Now I can see what programs are being loaded make it a lot easier to trouble shoot the system and now I hooked up my transmitter and got that side of the system working ... I will make a video and post it on You Tube I have not seen any good info on how to set up a OSD and trouble shoot the system if it is not working  ... Thanks to  f5soh for give me the idea and telling how to do it :)
