No response from ESCs'

Hi again guys, put a CC3D Evo in a F450 quad, and using setup wizard i am not getting any response from ESCs', but when they are connected straight to RX they will respond normally. 
I am using PPM receiver mode, and the ESCs' are EMax 30A-BLHeli firmware.
Any thoughts?
also, if board is connected to USB, will that also power the RX?

The ESCs are working with board now.
I had to do the TX setup first for some reason, after that the ESCs started to respond
IMO, the wizard should go through TX setup before motor calibration.

Guess it had something to do with the channels needing to be assigned, is my best conclusion
