What's going on with LibrePilot?
« on: March 30, 2016, 04:18:13 pm »
There have been no releases since the first one and I'm worried that things are going the way of openpilot... I hope everyone feels the same when I say please don't let this amazing project die...

There is nothing like the gcs, clean flight configurator is so ass backwards in comparison :'(

No worries check git repository, lots of commits every day https://bitbucket.org/librepilot/librepilot
Devs are working hard towards next release which will include many exciting features. If you are brave you can try compiling branch next yourself ;)
Is there anything you miss or wish to have that is not in current LP released version ? Also wiki is being build from scratch and forum user base grows.

Phew... I was panicking... Thanks!

One of the things I miss the most was the cruise control feature from back in the OP days which had been shut down: mainly it's ability to shut down the motors in inverted flight which made flips effortless. That and the ability to keep the pid loop running with zero throttle would be nice, sort of like an air mode. Hopefully I didn't miss somewhere that these features are already implemented.

Anyways really glad to hear things are still churning in the background!

Good news VictorHuge.  Both your wishes are being worked on:

Cruise Control can still be usted in self stabilizing modes (Attitude, Rattitude,..) and is proposed to be allowed for rate:
https://librepilot.atlassian.net/browse/LP-241
https://bitbucket.org/librepilot/librepilot/pull-requests/208/lp-254-set-cruisecontrolmaxthrust-default/diff

Airmode like behaviour is already in 15.09 as Always Stabilize when Armed (configurable only in the UAVO browser) and safety concerns have been resolved with this PR

Guys could support for Ibus be added to a future release please?

Bye the way I love this Fc software I tried betaflight but for some reason it didn't feel like I was flying.

Maybe if possible to merge dronin's autotune feature back to libre.

Autotune port is already a work in progress

For iBus, create a JIRA ticket and add documentation about iBus protocol.

Create account and JIRA here:

I was wondering is there a way to donate want to make sure that the site stays up and this project stays alive. I know it's open source but not all companies understand that and giveaway site hosting for free.

Hi,

I think there is no need donations, except if you donate your time doing development, writing documentation or another contribution to the project...
All Jira (ticket issues), bitbucket (code source), Wiki (documentation) infrastructure are hosted for free. Thanks to Atlassian.

Forum is also hosted for free from another contributor to the project, thanks to him ;)

We need many things to improve project, except money.
