Hi All!

I am new here and new to revo (was using CC3D before). I have an annoying issue with magnetometer setup and calibration, and I hope that local gurus will laugh at me (right after telling me what I am doing wrong). The problem is:
1. I have external M8N GPS with compass. It has two cables: 2 and 4 wires.
2. 4 wires goes to main port and set up as GPS UBX 57600
3. 2 wires goes to flexi port and set up as I2C
4. INS13 is used as attitude estimation.
5. On the System tab under mag settings I have selected to use both mags - AUX and internal.
With all the above setup, I went to a field and tried to get GPS assist and position hold working.... but I could not arm my quad due to MAG error. That sounded reasonable, because I did not do compass calibration. So I did. Calibration reported success. I went back to flight  data tab, but it looked like MAG indicator got even more red  :). Rebooted the board. GPS signal was fine in a couple of seconds, MAG is again red. So I was dancing around my laptop with quad doing compass calibration several times but all without any result. (The only result was my friend making fun of me and my dancing, saying: "Buy an AR Drone!" :D)
Is there something I am missing or doing wrong?

Thanks in advance!
-K.

Hi,

Which GCS version do you use ?

You should calibrate with both and next switch to AuxOnly

That must be it! I was using both after calibration as well.
Thanks!

15.09 release do not support external mag via I2C.
The only external mag supported with 15.09 is OP GPSv9

I thought 15.09 is the latest released, isn't it?
