Hi guys.

So after I did the vehicle wizard and the TX wizard I was hoping all would be well.....I didn't.

Quad is super wobbly even at hover and even more when moving the sticks. The harder I input the crazier it gets and finally the quad tries to over correct and throws flips rolls and forwards. I haven't  touched the PID yet and I selected an existing config from your list that is for the ZMR 250 quad.
I'm a geginner at that so please can someone that had the same issues walk me through the debug and help me get that co fug right so the quad is peaceful and stable?
I stay in flight mode 1 self leveling but still it's stoopid....
Yesterday it did new stuff. From hover without input it shoots full throttle and zoom 20 meters up straight before losing signal and falling back like a stone....
Or it struggles to start the props rotating and then by itself without I put again starts wobbling g like crazy then do double flips  by itself until shut off and fall.

Again all my batteries are good and trims were neutral. I did the very basic config I  your software and that's the results I got......please help me.guys I'm.getting  fed up and tired of buying props (10th pair yesterday....)
I'm very cautious when piloting it since I don't know quads just planes. So I did basic circles and 8 figures, rotations around  an object and such low beginner maneuvers for learning basics.
FliteTest videos wee a great help as well as Mr Steele explanation for his build and basic setups. I just watched his explanations about PID and I am wondering if I should t start tweaking that to finally get the quad flying as it should.

I put stiffer and better props and the wobble reduced a bit but still crazy as soon as I push any stick.....please help guys or I will curse the hobby and burn the Lemon Rc offices with the concept or inside hehehe.

I'm sure that cheap cc3d might be the culprit.....any better cc3d receiver brand you guys use and can recommend?
My esc are the Simon emax ones and setup as Rapidesc.
Hope those précisions help you pin point the reasons for my issues.

Thanks !!

Y

If your CC3D works at all it's probably fine.

Exactly what quad do you have, make and model?

To see what setup you have now, connect USB to quad, and turn on GCS. See File - Export UAV settings, and upload your *.uav file here.

Hi.

Thanks for the prompt answer guys !!

Actually I went to a store where the guy used an older openpilot version and he told me the firmware was bad.

I used to do the setup your new librepilot and did the upgrade part at the start.
But at the end of vehicle setup you offer to use the actual default config or an existing one from a list.
Which I did selecting the config for a zmr250 with 10A esc and a 1500ma battery.

After he reset everything on his openpilot the quad fly perfect with the self-level on.
I haven't used the other flight modes yet since I'm beginner.

No more wobbles and proper behavior and response.

I still don't know what happened before....maybe the librepilot didn't instal the firmware properly ?

I'll.contact you again if I face any trouble with your software.

Thanks and keep making it great !!

Yan

Well not 'bad' as such. More likely a GCS 'incompatible' with what's in the FC. They MUST match.

Did the store guy upgrade his GCS/LibrePilot?

If yes then that's friggin awesome. That's LWS support above and beyond what's required.

That's AWESOME!! Perfect. Stay in Attitude mode for a while. Then try Rattitude. Then Rate. Don't go from one level to the next till you're verrry comfortable. If at any moment you feel uncomfortable then step back to the previous mode. It's better to take longer to learn something then to break a lot of props.

There's only ONE way for everything to work right. There's an almost infinite number of ways for it to -not- work right.

I dont think he updated his Openpilot to the librepilot version.

Maybe you should make sure all the firmware are compatible with ANY  cc3d?
Or have a tool that detects the brand and model of our cc3d and shows instructions on how to pair correctly with this model?
Or even I crease the compatibility library of Librepilot.

I heard a lot of OP users that find the new interface confusing. An option  to get the same functionality s but with previous OP I terrace may be a good plus to help users transition from OP to LP?

Just users ideas and I worked a lot with software sales and design so it's just my 2 cents advice to make it even better.

Thanks !

So it wasn't compatible with your LP. Sometimes hanging back with 'what works' is a good idea. I'm *always* at least one version back with windows. I stopped riding the bleeding edge and wasting my time being a beta tester many years ago. All I want is what works.

I've been out of the industry for many years but worked with hardware/software integration on many levels. What you describe is the commercial world. This is the hobby world. Or at least it started that way.

LP *IS* compatible with every CC3D/Revolution ever made... to spec. There are only about 5 boards. The Chinese de-engineering departments have made dozens if not scores of new versions. That's -their- choice to deviate from the spec. If they want to send a few samples to an LP tech and *PAY* for them to test the compatibility that's their choice. Though I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for that to happen. :)

OP and LP already do that. The GCS will even notify if the firmware isn't up to date to match the GCS. If the Chinese de-engineering departments choose to create hardware that deviates from the spec yet declares itself to be spec, then that's their choice.

My personal favorite was DOS 5.? (can't remember) plus Quemm and Desqview. Next choices are Win 3.1 and 7. Well, time marches on. :) :) There's are new features in LP that OP didn't have, so yes it gets more complex.

Two choices. Get a Hubsan or Walkera. ;) Or learn about the new functionality.

The BEST answer really is to find out what is the 'least incompatible' manufacturer and stick with it. I have on original C3D and two HK CC3D but no 'clone' Revo (have two originals.) But those CC3D are a few years old and I have no idea what the new versions are like. The HK CC3D look and work great so that's what I'd stick with as far as manufacturer.

It is compatible with ANY cc3d.  And with the original CopterControl and any revolution or revo nano board.  Other than actual defective boards I've never seen one of them that it doesn't run on, cheap clones included.

...I heard a lot of OP users that find the new interface confusing...
That's kind of strange since it's essentially the same interface. In fact most of the code is still exactly the same as when it was OP.  At a glance it looks like the same software other than the logos.  There have been changes and improvements but most of them are invisible or just new selections in pop ups or added screens that beginners don't need to bother with.

GetFPV.com in the US have great cc3d boards. Come pre soldered vertical or horizontal pins. Less than 25$ shipped I think.

I've got 4. All in 210-280mm race/acro copters. They handle vibes and shock from crashes great. Keep level calibration, easily upgrade firmware.

Never had a problem.
Printed 1526 on top. And run red and green leds. No blue

I also found the transition from OP to LP basically seamless. Upgraded all 4 to LP without issue. Had an issue with the TX wiz on one, but that was user error. It seems people don't like change. Be glad this is not "update 16x in three months beta/Cleanflight."

GetFPV.com in the US have great cc3d boards.

One thing that might help a lot is a 'database of board reviews.' It would include reviewer creds, the board they used, GCS version, what they had to do to make the board work, and what didn't work. There's more that's what occurs to me at the moment.

Forgot to mention about getfpv. One thing that makes a board 'look right' is large clear pics. The skanky boards are in cases and no clear shot of the raw board.

I wish I would have taken better pics of mine that died, and then replaced with the GetFPV one. The old one was one of the super thin Chinese ones. No case but it was less than 1mm thick and seemed to have multiple components where as the GetFPV one was about 2mm and much cleaner as far as components go. Easier to tune as well. The old ones gyro basically died and it was bad...
