UAVs - post your UAV here
« on: January 06, 2016, 05:05:27 pm »
SAMPLE: attachment named "sample.uav"

I think we need a repository for UAVs like was on the OP site.

I will start with three 250 CP helicopters:
Blackie and Amarillo are HK250GT (originally) - Chinese weights and dbl bearings in tail, Tarot FBL heads,

DJ250 is a Trex 250 with DFC, Chinese weights, dbl brgs****warning** this heli has some pitch wobbles. Yaw and Roll are great but pitch oscillates.

Edit: I corrected some of Blackie's data. New 1307Blackie.uav
Edit newer flies for Blackie and DJs250

Do you know you can share templates that can be included in next release ?

Tools > Import/Export vehicle template

Laurent,

I do now. Thanks for pointing it out. Is it something for the future that doesn't work yet?

I filled out the entire form and included a photo of Blackie but it won't let me save or Export.

I see that Import can include current tuning as well as the vehicle profile. Will it include the entire UAV?

Template already works and used at wizard end (but not for helis)

If you created a template, it should be displayed later in "Import" list and saved in your config dir.
Template store main parameters for stabilization but not include Rcinput numbers for example.

Templates can also be used without using the wizard. To apply a template to a board, or exporting/importing a template just go to the 'Tools/Export/Import Vehicle Template...' menu and a dialog will open allowing you to handle templates in an easy way.

Template:
Under Export I created a new template twice and never got to the save or export part. What did I do wrong?

"Save as" and "Export" are only active when a board is connected ?
That allow retrieve settings.

Yes, you have to have a board connected to be able to ''save as'/'export' any template. The dialog might be improved. The wording on the buttons should probably be changed to something more descriptive.

Some inputs are not mandatory:
Name, owner, forum name, size, weight and need at least 3 or 4 characters in some cases

Yup. Thanks. When I had forum nickname "LP" it didn't work. As soon as I typed "Libr", just 4 letters, it highlighted Save and Export

Silly question and might need a one word answer.  Do the .uav setting files work on the who range of CC3D gyros?  Will a Revo set of settings work just as well in the Atom?

I am finding smaller PID numbers  to work my Revo than what were used on my CC3D Atoms. The numbers were a good starting point.

If you are using different flight modes for PID comparisons Practice and Plan ahead. Today I was flying along minding my own business and testing different PID settings in flight mode 2 when it started crazy oscillations.  I couldn't  switch back into flight mode 1 easily so I had to land with it bucking and wiggling. I didn't plan on an EASY, CONVENIENT switch that I could get to in an emergency.

I thought they wold be the same but they are not.

All three of these 250s flew well with Open Pilot. They were all stable and quick handling.
Their OP files are posted (OP in the title)

And the LP files are here, too.  2- 14-2016. The PIDs are different in LP.

Happy Landings!

Two files that both fly one of my HK250s:
Open Pilot  (1108Amarillo) -- and --Libre Pilot (1414Amarillo)

The OP file flies a little better right now. I need more time with good weather and then some wind to tune better.
I will post updates of the Trex250 and my other HK which has a Revo in it soon. Weather permitting...
Happy Landings!
