Did anyone flash a Revo with next and return it? (I got it)
« on: February 15, 2020, 06:25:58 pm »
I bought a Revo and it came with LP next on it (git 8c101adc which is also known as R782).  That seems strange, so I wonder if if has a problem and someone returned it.

I bought it from ebay seller porcupinerc, but the ebay seller could be a drop shipper, so it could have come from anywhere.

Likewise: Has anybody bought a Revo that came with LP next on it?  So maybe this is normal?

No pins ever soldered on it.  Baro has +- 0.5m noise.

Thanks.

Info: This Revo comes with pins unsoldered, but comes with both the horizontal and vertical pins.  It comes with a short range coil antenna.

I've recently bought two Revos from this seller but didn't pay attention what firmware they had on arrival. I guess (this was months ago) the first one had 16.09 on it but I'm not sure at all about the second one.
I've immediately flashed them with the r735 based build I currently use and checked their hardware, tests went ok.

As far as I know, this seller is a real store in HK, not a reseller: http://www.porcupinerc.com/. Last Revo I've bought directly from his online store, outside of ebay.

In January I bought four revos from that honk kong online store. They are shipped to a friends address in Hong Kong and waiting to be sent to me when I get back to BJ (virus self isolation at the moment).
I will check what software they have.

The same wishes from me, too!

Let boredom remain the only problem!

Thanks jdl.
In addition to boredom, it's frustrating to be in a location where I normally can fly totally legally and safely, but now I can only watch the beach from my balcony - its out of reach.
. Fixed wing, wind speed sensor for RTB, PH project halted
. Heli 450L gps modes project halted
. Tilt rotor VTOL fixed wing project halted.
I can fly my small 100 size 3d Heli inside the premises and that's great though.

I got the four Revolution boards delivered here.
The GCS I am using is LP 16.09 and I can only confirm its not the same version on the board.

My pc with Windows and Ubuntu on it has crashed and this Mac will not recognise the boards at all unless using 16.09. Maybe you can tell what version it is by the screenshots.

Looks like LP 15.09 which is less surprising than the recent Next that I got on mine.  :)

The other two are like the first one.
So strangely enough 3 are 15.09 and one is 16.09 next r782  ???

They come in same style bags, for each Revo there are two bags, one with the board and the other with the antenna, the cables and the output pins to solder on yourself.
In the picture I have unfolded the 4th units bags.
Baro is okay (+- 0.5m) on all and have not had a chance to check the OPlink, but I think it will be fine.

That makes me feel better.   :)

If several boards have the same "next" on them, it makes me think they are being made or tested that way.  I was worried that mine had been returned with a problem after having next flashed on it.

There is a person in the shop called Howard,
I think he is active flying himself.
