Wrong rolling in elevon plane running Micro CC3D
« on: January 18, 2019, 08:00:29 am »
I am setting up my elevon Sky Shadow running micro CC3D. All control are fine and correct pitching and rolling responses from Tx. When testing these responses from gyro command, pitching is correct, but rolling is wrong.......rolling the plane to left, left aileron went up, and right aileron went down. Should be the opposite.

My servo connection to CC3D output as follows :--
Right servo -- Ch 1
Left servo   -- Ch 2

I tried to reverse the roll and pitch in the INPUT and OUTPUT pages of GCS, but only mess up with the control surface responses from Tx. I also did the Setup Wizard again, Tx set up again, all these did not help.

Is there any way to reverse the gyro output in System setting ?

Thanks.

Had that on Heli Tail, reverse Direction at input and output did the trick. Don’t forget to adjust transmitter.

@utoedter has the exact correct fix.  Change the reversing boxes on both the Input and Output pages for just that channel.

This is usually caused by not following directions (stick setup reversing) during setup or by changing the wrong settings to get the controls to work in the correct direction.  After running setup, you should only change reversing, centering, etc. on the Output page and leave the Input page alone.  This could probably be explained better somewhere.

Hi @utoedter and Cliff,
Thanks for the replies.

Pls find attached the 3 screenshots which show the best setting combination, everything is fine with these setting with the exception that  gyro outputs wrong signals when rolling the plane. When I tried reversing both the INPUT and OUTPUT , attached WORD document shows the results, and did not solve the problems.

The orientation of CC3D is placed so that yaw is set to -90 deg in Attitude page.

I did the vehicle set up again before sending out the last email. This created another problem…… when I came to Transmitter set up wizard, the GCS nearly stuck most of the time and I cannot proceed when asked to move all the sticks to their extremes. Last time when I did the Tx Set Up Wizard, after many many failures, I don’t know what I did (tried many different ways, sometimes  not logical) to get through the wizard. I am now a bit reluctant to do this (Tx) setup again, unless really necessary.

Normally, when asking us to move the sticks to extremes, the GCS has its Tx sticks move in all directions to show the users. This is the step when I get stuck. Do you have any clue on what caused this ?

Thank you.

Oh, so you have your FC mounted in a non-standard orientation.  In that case, put input and output settings back to where they were after you ran setup, and use this page to adjust your Attitude->RotateVirtual...

I finally got everything correct by swapping the 2 servo plugs connecting Ch 1 and 2 of FC, and then try all the combinations of reversing the INPUT and OUTPUT of aileron and elevator in GCS.

Anyway, thanks for your help.
