cc3d atom mini 3.3v for connecting BMP180 baro
« on: August 05, 2018, 08:54:29 am »
Hello,

I am attempting to connect BM180 barometer https://robu.in/product/bmp180-digital-barometric-pressure-sensor-board-module-arduino-compatible-2/ to flexi/main port of cc3d atom mini. The specs of bmp180 says it can take only 1.8V to 3.6V. But both flexi/main ports provide 4.8V.
cc3d documentation at http://opwiki.readthedocs.io/en/latest/user_manual/cc3d/cc3d.html says something about 3.3V.
What is the best way to get 3.3V from cc3d to power BMP180?

An inline Low Drop Out 3.3V voltage regulator between the CC3D and the BMP180

But...  I'm pretty sure that is functionally deprecated code, requires code changes and building it locally, and doesn't have any flight modes that use it in the CC3D.

We all want to use our old hardware, but by all counts, this is a task best performed by buying a Revo class FC that has baro built in and has a working baro driver and baro flight modes (Altitude Hold and Altitude Vario).
