VTX question and recommendations
« on: July 10, 2017, 12:06:23 am »
Hi all:

I believe I've possibly burnt out my fpv video transmitter. I only get a range of about 100 feet.

I'm thinking of getting a Eachine TX526 5.8G 40CH 25MW/200MW/600MW Switchable AV Wireless FPV Transmitter here's a link https://www.banggood.com/Eachine-TX526-5_8G-40CH-25MW200MW600MW-Switchable-AV-Wireless-FPV-Transmitter-RP-SMA-Female-p-1083642.html?rmmds=cart.

Has anyone tried this one or does anyone have any other suggestions?

Mateusz

I quite happy with Immersion 600mW (though its big) not sure about other perhaps TBS Unify PRO 800mW is good I heard. I am going to test recently purchased Rush vtx but directly from seller since Banggood sells clones which look like original and even cost as much but are definitely clones according to manufacturer. So far Rush looks as very nicely designed, but I haven't tested it. I also used TS.. standard cheap vtx which worked ok. Be sure to check your antennas before using high power vtx. If you bend antenna and break coax core it might be like without antenna...

Hi, PaulO,

I have excellent results with this transmitter (Eachine TX526), also with the older Eachine ET600 from Banggood. With good (not necessarily expensive!) antennas on 600mW you can definitely get 6-7km distance, maybe even more, in the open air.

I'm using a TS5823 (https://oscarliang.com/ts5823-200mw-video-transmitter/) and it works surprisingly well. I'm new to the hobby, so I guess I don't have a lot to compare to.

Here's some footage transmitted to the DVR in my goggles: (This was my first FPV flight ever and was in Attitude mode. Don't laugh!) Goggles were Eachine VR D2 Pro with diversity receiver.
