It will take 5 minutes to acquire any satellite . Any idea how to make this faster ?
Actually not possible. Cell phones use mobile network to fetch almanac via cellular network. Copters can't do that.
It probably has super capacitor which lasts 6h but is very small (looks like small battery). They dont use battery because battery gets bad after some time, takes more space and almanac needs updating after 6h anyway.
If you fly within 6h window. You let it sit for ~20min clear sky to update almanac then within next 6h after you disconnect battery it should have up to date information and pick satellites quick.
This is just how all GPS hardware works.
