Quad instaflip
« on: January 31, 2017, 03:37:52 pm »
Hello, my second quad is about to drive me crazy. It's flip on take off, I change everything except the motor, triple check (I will say at least 10 time) motor orientation directiin and props.

Need help please.

Looks like motor direction or prop type ;) could also be wrong servo wire plugged in FC into wrong motor. If it's wrong servo wire then it's trying to accelerate wrong motor to level itself. Could also be wrong FC orientation so it accelerate motors for example rear ones when it needs to spin up front ones.

Fc orientation is really weird,  I need to flip the pitch 180 and the yaw 90 deg. To have the flight representation showing right in flight data. Will show a picture of the gcs  later.

So board is upside down with servo connectors either in front or rear?  That is what you describe.

Board is not upside down, arrows on top pointing right, but I had to turn orientation as described to meke the flight data showing OK

Pointing right as in to the right side, not right as in correctly?   That would be -90 yaw, not +90 yaw.  And pitch zero.

I know that from the documentation it was supposed to be -90deg. But if I put that, flight data is inverted and quad flip (I try it) As another test I turn my fc with the arrow pointing front (see picture) in flight data now the roll is inverted. I don't understand ...

Thanks for your help guys

So...First make sure whatever the orientation setting is, the flight data screen reacts correctly...That should eliminate most software issues...

Are you able to swap the motors places easily (swap same spin direction and move needed wiring of course)?  I'd try that next and see if it still flips the same direction or if it "follows" a certain motor. Just my thoughts....

That board is mounted in normal direction.

I know what your problem is.  When looking at Flight Data page and you roll left THE HORIZON rolls right, and that is normal.

Actually, that was your problem, you don't understand how a PFD works.  https://librepilot.atlassian.net/wiki/display/LPDOC/PFD#PFD-MyPFDlooksreversed

Like Cliff said. Think about it as you get closer to the ground. Imagine a plane horizontal to your copter, when you roll left, the ground goes above that imaginary plane right ? So your PFD shows this very correctly, there is nothing wrong with roll.
