Motors startup surge after LP GCS 16.09 update
« on: January 08, 2017, 11:49:23 pm »
Greetings,

I have a 260mm Blackout Mini-H quad with the following specs that I've built and am learning to fly.

Revolution Mini
Hobbyking Blue Series 12A ESCs (factory state)
Turnigy Elite 2204-2300 outrunners
Futaba R2008SB (SBUS-connected)

I had it flying well with it's previous CC3D board and the LP GCS version prior to 16.09 but after upgrading the GCS, updating the firmware and completing the setup wizards, the motors surge excessively at minimum engaging throttle and then wind down to an expected pre-takeoff speed. The motor surge uncontrollably bumps the craft off the ground but after they wind down, take-off and flight characteristics are as expected.

Does the same thing when choosing the slowest ESC setting in the wizard.

I upgraded the FC to a mini Revo yesterday and I'm getting the exact same motor/ESC surge behavior.

Since I don't know what happened, I can't say for sure that the problem corresponds with the GCS upgrade but that step preceded the surge issue.

I've attached the UAV Setting export for this craft and I look forward to- and thank you in advance for any replies.

Kind Regards,
Richard

Hi,

You should enable/check the "Zero the Integral when Throttle is low" option
Go to Configuration > Stabilization, at bottom page.

Oh, happy day! That is exactly what I should have checked. I am grateful for your assistance!
