OPLM issues, good signal no telemetry
« on: November 12, 2015, 04:02:41 pm »
Pulled a working Nano/OPLM pair from another frame and installed in new Hex.

Rescued, erased, updated Nano, flight OPLM and ground OPLM to LP 15.09.

OPLM/Nano connected via Main port.  Nano Main port enabled, 38400. Ground OPLM USB to laptop, speed set to 38400, no ports enabled (none connected).  Signal strength for both radios at 100.

Flight radio set as coordinator. (Tried setting ground radio as coordinator but couldn't even get a signal, nada).

You can see from screenshots the radios are talking to each other.  What stupid thing have I missed?

Try the exact same setup but at 57600

OK, hmmmmmmm.

This hardware wouldn't work at 57600 under OP, only 38400. that's why I set it up that way. Sorry I didn't even think about trying a higher speed.

Whatever, thanks f5soh!  We're gonna start some tuning on this bad boy today, whoopee!

So did that fix it?

Yes indeed!  Sorry, I thought my enthusiasm about being able to start tuning would imply that.

Just used up my first lipo, trying to sort through some oscillation issues, may be a subject for another thread, I've never set up a hex.

Glad to hear it :) and good to know.

Long ago I started using 57600 for a little head room for when I want to tweak my telemetry.  I haven't even tried 38400 in probably 2 years.

Telemetry port baudrates are currently hardcoded, so 57600 default :(

Fixed for next release.
