First, Happy Holidays all!

This is a new one for me...Just set up a new frame with tried and tested hardware. Connected battery for first tuning attempt but couldn't fly due to persistent errors in both ATTI and STAB.  All calibrations completed and then redone, twice.  All connections physically checked.
I am able to resolve the issue temporarily by picking up the quad and waving it around, sensors go green but as soon as I put it down ATTI/STAB go red or, in the case of ATTI, red with a black x indicating a sensor failure.

When I switch to INS13 and obtain position fix, no errors, quad launches fine.  However, on the third attempt to arm the FC rebooted when I hit ARM so I'm not flying until I figure out whats going on.

In complementary there is a safety feature that wait for a steady board.
If you click on ATTI error you will see: "Waiting for the board to be steady before gyro init."
With a very noisy sensor you will need to increase the threshold, search for "BoardSteadyMaxVariance" using the search tool into the UAVOBrowser.

Rebooting board and NaN in PFD looks strange.
Please post your config file.

Thanks, here you go:

EDIT: Changed to Complimentary + Mag, all green, ready to fly.  Same with Complimentary + Mag + GPS outdoor, all green.

What's NaN?

Config file looks fine here.

Try disabling the "Wait until the board is steady" option and reboot the board.
If works you can expect a issue with a noisy sensor.

sitting on the ground!

Scopes for x-quad sitting right next to the H Quad (the one causing me trouble, today)

The first scope looks really strange, with big (+2G) vertical spikes.
This activity prevent gyro init at start in complementary.

Maybe a sensor/hardware issue.

...What's NaN?
Not a Number.   Essentially an invalid value.

Thanks Laurent and hwh, appreciate your help.

This is my second Sparky2 to fail, and, it's the one I bought from the TauLabs recommended supplier.
I'll keep digging, trying to understand this crazy hobby that drives me nuts, sometimes.

Meanwhile, I'm going to chuck a Banggood Revo into this thing and see what happens, I've had pretty good luck with them so far.

It's not mounted with metal hardware, or touching carbon fibre is it?

Also, you might try a linear BEC for a test if you are using a switching BEC.

Also, you might disable your FPV transmitter for a test.

Also, you might disable the internal OpLink for a test.  I had strange stuff happen and it turned out to be a bad antenna connector.

I have hobbiesfly Sparky2 that has worked perfectly for me for many flights.  I've taken it out because of new FC's needing testing.  Hobbiesfly doesn't sell them any more.

Okay, thanks theothercliff, looking forward to trying your suggestions.

Ummmm, I wonder why the atti/stab modes go green in mag and or gps flight modes.  Scopes are still hinky though but the quad will fly.

All it takes is a short time where both GPS and Mag are green for ATTI/STAB to go active.  They can go crazy after that and it stays active.  That is so you have a chance to get it down without falling if GPS/Mag go bad in the air.
