Head Lights, Tail Lights Set-Up?
« on: June 20, 2016, 02:50:37 pm »
Hello all,

I have a Walkera Runner with the new CC3D FC installed. I have it flying great and very tame for a newbie like me. Now the red tail lights flash to indicate what flight mode it is in. The old FC would just have them off, then on steady when armed. Then would flash when battery voltage would reach 10.5V, 3S. I liked that set-up better….

Is there a way to set up the lights like this? I have been looking/searching through the forum and manual.  Only found a WS281XLED in the manual about LED control. But this seems to be a add on board.

Is there any way to program these tail lights?

Thanks,

Brian

The board LEDs do have certain ways of flashing that tell you when the board is ready to arm or armed, and also tell you if there is a problem.

There are ways of adding a voltage and/or current sensor to the FC or to an OSD but I think a better way is to use a lipo alarm.  They are less than $2 shipped on eBay.  They watch individual cells (you plug it into the balance connector).  They have an audible alarm as well as flashing LEDs.  The alarm voltage level is adjustable.
