Have been very happy using cc3d boards in 250 and 180 sized quads .
I tend to fly proximity - in and out of barns , through woodland (rate/acro).
I sometimes stick a led light on the back for fun , but no gps , altitude hold or such.
Is there any advantage to me "upgrading" to a revo board ?

I would say no.  I've been using cc3d boards for two years now. If you can fly in rate and tune a cc3d why change a good thing.  If you want a docile air cow for pictures and such then I would just keep flying what you have with dumbed down rates.  I don't see a reason to add the weight and troubleshooting that comes with GPS and pos hold features if you already can fly well

No, as the previous poster said, the only real advantages to the revo come from the GPS based modes.  If you just fly rate/acro there's no advantage to going to the more expensive boards.

Shall stick with the trusty cc3d.
Nearly got sucked into the ' ooh , that's more expensive thus is better/ will make flying more fun thing. '
