CC3D Atom in HK250 w/ HK FBL Conversion
« on: March 24, 2016, 05:47:30 am »
I'm using a Turnigy 9XR Pro with the original firmware driving an OrangeRX module with a 6 CH receiver. The cyclic and tail servos are all moving in the correct direction. I'm stuck (read confused) on the throttle setup. the TX is set for a standard 4 CH model with no swashplate or CCPM settings. This is a TAER radio. I have the three position switch set up on CH 5. CH 6 is just used as an AUX channel.
How is the throttle setup? I have run the GCS TX Setup Wizzard several times.

Have you calibrated the ESC?  I know it's simple but that's the stuff I trip over.

So I think I get the big duh award for this one. My flight mode was set up on bank 5 and I had the ESC plugged into that slot. I moved it to Bank 6 and it is fine. TY- for the suggestion to look at the simple stuff...

Dave I think I have correctly imported my uav file. It is the attachment. How do you view it?

You can edit the uav file in almost any editor. Windows Notepad is OK. You might even view it in html if you click on the file.

Actuator settings: make more conservative  (So that the servos don't go zooming, perhaps the wrong way in Swash Leveling routine)
1350, 1522 , 1750   or 1750, 1522, 1350  for the cyclics [0,1,2] maybe tail, [3]  too.

Throttle curve: -- yours has throttlecurve1=throttlecurve2 (gotta have curve2 for negative pitch)
put this line in for curve2 in place of the one you have:
<field values="-1,-0.5,0,0.5,1" name="ThrottleCurve2"/>

Manual Rates: 220 vs 540 (you want to see some movement)
             <field values="540,540,540" name="ManualRate"/>
            <field values="570,570,570" name="MaximumRate"/>
220 degrees per second (rotational rate) is a very slow flip. My heli would probably need 30 feet to invert. But at 540 degree / second t handles fine. If that is too fast then lower your TX endpoints. I use 570 maximum so that the heli can provide a little movement of its own.

Flight modes:
I see you are set for 3 flight modes. You can probably get 6 flight modes by mixing. Change flight mode in the air (if possible) to compare different settings banks--there are three--and different flight syles: Acro+, Vbar, Rate, Rattitude, Weak Leveling, etc. If you are using a Spektrum TX I might be able to help with mixing.

Let me know if you have trouble editing.
I hope this answers your question.
