Spin upon Arm...no throttle cut
« on: March 09, 2016, 03:25:08 pm »
Ok I have been playing around with spinning motors upon arming.
One thing I discovered is now my Throttle Cut in my DX8 no longer works.
I suppose I do understand why so I have another question.
Can one setup a 3 position switch to Arm/Dis-Arm?
Or is there a way around my Throttle Cut issue?
If I uncheck Spin on Arm throttle cut works.
In the field when I crash I want a quick way to kill the motors (quicker than disarming)
I was playing around with the spin on arm since with my BLHeli esc's the active braking
REALLY works...when you kill throttle those motors stop on a dime...no free spinning.

If you check "Spin while armed", motor spin while the board is armed... looks normal  :o

You can assign a switch for arming, see the "Accessory...." in Arming options, only a 2 pos switch is needed.

Yea thats how I understand it I just thought that when I flipped the switch for throttle cut they would stop
like they do when this option is not checked :) but your right armed is armed :)
So with the accessory arm option using a 2 pos switch obviously one position is
for armed and one is for off.
So once the CC3D receives this ARM signal it ignores the continued input from the
switch still remaining in the ARM position?

 :o ?

I think you need to test by yourself and check if match your needs...

Yes sir I will. More so looking for options at this point.
I have for the most part always flown with them off at arm and the only
reason I changed was that I read when doing flips and rolls most people
select to use the spin on arm option so their motors do not stop if they
go to zero throttle. But I suppose that may be fore the more talented folks to
even fell the difference.
