MPXV7002DP Analog airspeed sensor connection
« on: July 20, 2016, 08:31:39 pm »
Hi there,

My airspeed sensor uses an MPXV7002DP and gives an analog voltage on its output pin. Where can I connect it to on my Revo board ? Which port and pin ?

The config wizard does only list I2C airspeed sensor.

Do I have to configure it manually ? Using System->Parameters->AirspeedSettings = DIYDronesMPXV7002 I guess.
Anything else ?

Thanks for your help

Hi,

Exactly, first set the Airspeed type. You may need to adjust the scale and zero point later.

Next define the adc# used for input

Some servo output can be used for analog input, like the output5 that should be free.
Not sure about the exact ADC routing, adc0 and adc1 are used with sensor port.
For other adc assignments you may look at source code or find the right one by try and error.

If i'm not wrong the mapping is like that:

adc0: batt/sonar pin 3
adc1: batt/sonar pin 4

adc2: Servo pin 3
adc3: Servo pin 4
adc4: Servo pin 5
adc5: Servo pin 6

adc6 and adc7 are internal.

Is there a notable improvement from MPXV7002DP to MS4525DO ? Because item 282107024579 (on the Bay) is US$40, almost as much as the Revo kit itself (US$51 - 55) but much less than an airplane crash and repair. Is it worth the expense ?

Are all MS4525DO genuine MS chips or are there counterfeit products around ? What about this one (item 282107024579 on the Bay) as far as you can tell ?

Thanks for the help.

I put a warning in last part on Wiki page about that.

MS4525DO is I2C, temperature compensated and some electronics inside.
MPXV7002DP is analog, datasheet say is temperature compensated but...

No idea about genuine or counterfeit products, sorry.
