What do we have "max rate limit" for?

Hi Folks!

I understand that this is a limitation for your rates. But I do not totally understand why do we have this setting for?
For example I set pitch rate to 540 but have max rate limit set to 360. Does this mean that my max rate will stay 360 but rate gain with stick input will be as with 540? Or I'm just making it up in my imagination?   ;D

Thanks.

Yes if max rate limit is 360 and pitch rate to 540 it's will be limited to 360. I always set my max to what pitch/roll rate is or higher. The max rate limit applies to all modes. Even attitude. So maybe only have 75-80* bank angle but at a quick 540* per second. So it will be limited by the max limit (move very fast but stop at bank angle). The rate limit only applies to rate. So set them equal or max limit higher.
