Idle too fast
« on: January 15, 2017, 12:45:10 pm »
Hi LP

My idea is to make as lightweight and quiet  x4 drone as possible.
- frame: is carbon tube 10 mm
- motors: dualsky XM4005TE-13 690kV 200W
- speed controllers: V-good Firefly 12A
- FC Revo
- battery 3s lipo 2700mAh
- TOW 650 g

Now the problem is that when I give throttle only a little, the drone jumps in the air and I have to pull the throttle to minimum.
This did not happen with smaller 2300kV motors.

Two things to try:
- ESC calibration and neutral setting
- reduce PIDs

Ok, my props are 11X7, not balaced...some vibration took place. My frame is very light and battery&camera deck is hanging from the rods by rubberband in order to reduce camera vibration.
-By reduce PIDs, do you mean  Tx Pid / Throttle range? It was .2-.8, I changed it to .05 to .8.
-Do I Enable TxPID-module?

battery and camera on rubber bands helps that, but does not help Revo.  :)  no, you can't put Revo on rubber bands, but you can put it on anti-vibration mount, but that sometimes causes problems too...

At a certain point, vibration makes even the gyros go crazy.

Balancing props is not really optional.  :)

After calibration, removing yaw trims from transmitter, tightening propellers a nice surprise took place: it flew well!
Revo is not on rubber bands of course.
I also tested 3s  LiIon batteries, weight 150 g , they seemed to give enough power (LG INR 18650 MJ1 3500 mAh / 10A Li-Ion,
compared with Turnigy 3300mAh 3S 30C Lipo Pack 297g )
