Update on MotionRC HobbyEagle X-6 Flight Controller!!!
For me I have very limited to no flight time with a quadcopter or any other type of aircraft for that matter so simplicity is an absolute must for me as a beginner. My aircraft is a Robocat 270 with CC3D FC Librepilot, 2204-2300kz motors, 3S, TL300L OSD, TS832 fpv transmitter, FS-IA6 reciever, FS-I6 transmitter. I Installed the CC3D, Uploaded the latest Librepilot firmware to my FC, downloaded the Librepilot GCS and completed both the Vehicle and Controller Wizard processes. I have been working with the PID tuning and feel that so far I have been doing well and have been flying my quadcopter and loving every minute of it.
The other day, a friend came by and was very interested with building a quadcopter of his own. We looked into the many build up kits available on the web and he picked out one he likes very much. The problem is that he is not computer literate and the entire process of downloading Librepilot GCS, uploading FC firmware , having to tune PID's, etc. has got him both intimidated and overwhelmed. As a newby to all of this everything needs to go smoothly throughout the entire processes of purchase selections, needed tools and equipment, assembly buildup, flight preparation, initial setup for first flight and attempting that first flight.
This is were the MotionRC X6 6 axis FC comes in. My friend and I spent much of yesterday morning together and removed the CC3D FC from my beloved Robocat 270 and replaced it with the MotionRC X6 6 axis FC.
Very easy and straight forward plug and play, no computer needed, no uploading, no downloading, no PID tuning. Just a simple press of a button on the FC to go through a very easy and simple to understand setup process.
My VERY computer literate friend was able to complete the task of installing the FC and doing the setup of the FC, the most part all by himself!!! After charging the battery, He took the transmitter in hand and was flying my Robocat 270 on his first attemp.
IF WE ARE GOING TO BRING NEWBIES INTO THE HOBBY, THIS IS WHAT WE NEED!!!
Later that day, after he had flew off nearly 5 batteries and with a huge grin on his face and debit card in hand, he placed an order for a ZRM250 quadcopter, 2204-2300kv motors, four 20amp Bl-heli ESC's, 3S lipo and charger, a PDB, FS-I6 radio and receiver, and a MotionRC X6 6 axis flight controller.
Simple.
It seems the trouble I had was not with the FC at all, it was me over thinking everything. As far as not having an arming,,, Just dont turn on the radio until you are ready to lift off,,, and in the event of lost signal, the MotionRC X6 FC cuts power to the motors.
