Everything calibrated but tx won't turn motors on :(
« on: August 05, 2016, 12:00:03 pm »
Hi I'm new to the forum. I'm building a ZMR250 with CC3D atom, and using a FS-i6 tx w/ FS-ia6 rx.

I installed librepilot yesterday and went through the process - upgraded firmware, vehicle wizard and tx wizard and everything went swimmingly. I unplugged the usb cord and turned everything off and on. The transmitter worked just fine. Great!

The next day (today) I finished ziptying the wires and screwing the bolts down, and the transmitter no longer works. Not sure what I'm missing... battery is reading 12.2V.

The tx turns on and is reading from the rx, the motors outputs test out fine, went through transmitter wizard again and it's reading the sticks just fine. Can't figure out what the problem is, especially when it was just working yesterday.

Any help appreciated!

EDIT: Okay nevermind, looks like the software somehow defaulted to "always disarm" and I had to change it back to "Yaw Left"

Looks like you miss the message just after you start the Tx wizard.

Welcome :)

Thanks.

I just read the title and thought it was just temporary. Guess I should've read the message too. It's still weird because every time I make a change to the vehicle settings, it randomly changes the TX settings. The last time I did it, it added several flight modes (my tx only supports 1 mode), and added the flight mode change button to channel 5 PWM (it was set as off before).

What do you mean exactly with "I make a change to the vehicle settings" ?

I had the motor order wrong and the quad immediately flipped on its side after taking off. So, I swapped around the motor order and went through the wizard again to recalibrate the motors, and afterwards I saved those settings. I skipped the tx wizard since it was already set up correctly. When I plugged the battery in again my tx didn't work anymore. When I plugged it back into the computer, it turns out my tx was set to have 3 modes, and that it was currently on mode 3.

Not an expert - but if I do anything  with the motors in LP...for  the time it takes and the cost of repairs...I go through the  flow of the procedures and calibrate the TX  setup. and  when  all saved - go back and make  sure  I have set the  arming sequence  -  which is easy to forget - and save it (Yaw right seems favorite by most.)
My  "log out" sequence after all is saved  is to disconnect  from LP, remove battery and close the TX - then remove the USB.
