Title: Flips and Rolls
Post by: fred kaz on February 20, 2016, 06:31:05 pm
Hi All,

I have come from the openpilot section and now use Librepilot.

On the other form there was a section for newbies and noobs on how to sett good pid and rate setting for really tight rolls.

I now cant find this anymore on the internet.  Would anyone on here be able to advice me please on good settings for librepilot for really tight and fast rolls.

I don't do much fpv flying but I really like flying fast and hard with lots of flips and rolls.

Regards,

Fred

Thanks for these links,  Only problem the site has saved the web page but not the embedded pictures which show all the PID settings.

Cheers anyway, thanks for trying to help

If you read the text you can find all information for Optune procedure.

For rolls or flips, increase the default rate value (and max rate) to something around 400deg/s or more after some practice.

Here is an example using Rattitude mode + CruiseControl @400deg/s

Thanks for the advice, quite new to this and being a old fart, I find it takes a bit to sink in.

Thankyou for that last post, very interesting reading.  It's a pity that these tips and the manual be available as a off file, do that I could read off line and take to the field to fine tune.

I've come from OP and after refitting my quad and adjusting the battery positioning to make it balance better I installed LP.  I've been using standard PIDs as a noob but I'm just getting to the point where I want to learn to tune and have a go at flips and rolls.

This post and the links are great advice.  I'm reading with interest and will see what I can make of it.

Thanks, loads!
