Title: LibrePilot for commercial use ie: selling drones running librepilot
Post by: Rav3n on February 04, 2016, 02:50:49 pm
Hello Everyone

I'm in the process of building a small business and wanted to ask the question.

Is it legal to use LibrePilot software on a drone to be sold?? also would there be any issues using it on my personnel drone and charging for Ariel photography

Just thought it was a valid question as i cant seem to find a straight yes or no answer haha

Regards
Rav3n

It's open source software under the GPL license, you can use it for whatever you want.  The only restrictions GPL places on use have to do with keeping the source open.  Essentially, you can't modify the software and distribute the modified version without making the source code (including the modifications) available.  Google "GPL license" for the actual details.
