Title: FC placement on fixed wing
Post by: Klingan on January 18, 2016, 06:14:05 pm
Hi

I can't find any info on the net about how critical it is where you place the fc on your fixed wing. I'm going to install a Revo on my multiplex twinstar that I fly fpv with.
Is it super important like in a multirotor that I place the fc in dead CG or can it be pushed forward or back without any problems?

Hi, welcome.

You can put Fc where you want.
Maybe take in account high currents and place board away so you can use the internal magnetometer without issues.

Hmm ok, I really thought it was important for the board to be in CG like for quads. Placing a fc far from cg on a quad can result in weird behavior and problems.

Well thanks for answering!

I have my board mounted in front on my 250quad, without issues.

When you mount board on frame's CG did you take in account the offset due to sensor placement on board ?
