This is not really a problem, because I see no ill effects, just something I'm curious about.
Most Tx/Rx combinations generate channel values from roughly 1000 to 2000 microseconds, with insignificant variances. Using my Hitec Aurora 9 Tx and a Hitec Optima Rx (PWM only), I do in fact see those ranges on the GCS input screen after calibration. However, using the same Tx with a Hitec-compatible SBUS Rx, all the same channels show Min/Max ranges of about 438 to 1619. Is this normal? If so, what causes the unexpected range?
Setup is a Revo Mini and GCS 16.09 (heli setup).

Sbus ranges like this are normal and expected.

Thank you. Is that also the case with PPM receivers?

PPM is just a set of PWM pulses in a row (timewise) on the same wire, so PPM pulse widths are the same as PWM pulse widths.
