Title: Video image problem after long time on shelf
Post by: kennyevo on May 30, 2018, 08:24:03 pm
Hi all!

I've started to use my drones again after getting a 3d printer and printing some stuff for them.

It looks like my Eachine VR-007 goggles died on the shelf, because I see the attached image with two transmitters and two different cameras.
Does it worth a try to disassemble the thing and check something on the receiver?

Any help is appreciated, I don't really want to buy a new headset, maybe I could just replace the video receiver in it?
I have pretty good soldering skills, so no modification could scare me :D

Thanks in advance!

I would take them apart and reseat all the cables, especially the flat clear plastic printed circuit cables if there are any.  Be careful to understand the cable locking mechanism and make sure to unlock the flat cable before removing it.  It should pull out easily.

You might also play with some settings, does it do it through the DVR as well as direct (i.e. AV1 vs. AV2)?
Try different resolution settings like PAL vs. NTSC and SD vs. HD and 4x3 vs. widescreen.

If it has any video out or video in connectors, try those.  I would guess that video out (from receiver) would be OK, but video in (to display) would show the issue.

Hi!

Thanks for the help, unfortunately no change :/ (tried reseating all the connectors, it doesn't have any video output, nor option for PAL/NTSC, so I think it just died :/

Me again...

So strange, the dvr requires a 2S battery to work (with the screen), but it gave me that strange issue with the 2S lipo.
Tried with 3S to give it a shot, and it's working! Originally it had a 2S battery, but it seems something got tired in the receiver and needs more voltage to work o.O
